Shows on paper - In Good Company

In Good Company, was my second collaboration with choreographer and dancer Joel O’Donohue and composer Pete Yelding.

On this outing we were joined by Inky Cloak (Martin Moriarty and Daniel Fulvio) and Rosemary Maltezos. Developed primary over a 5 day residency at The Place, as a company we explored the themes of creative block, seaside walks and joyous joyous childlike spinning!

In this process, most of my work in the room was identifying direction of light, based on the dominant movements in a phrase.

In Good Company was performed at The Place as part of Resolution in 2016.

Shows on paper - Alligators

Alligators was a return to a far more ‘traditional’ way of working for me. In previous months I’d been very active in movement based and performance art based work. It had been a while since I’d been in a rehearsal room with an actual script.

Andrew Keatley’s gripping script carved out a delicious moral dilemma for our audiences. My job was to shift certainty and introduce doubt in a visual way without being too cumbersome. Endless fine detail in transitions was the name of the game.

As the the rehearsal notebook shows, in the room I was intent on understanding focus and insuring that light changes landed at precisely the right moment.

Alligators ran at the Hampstead Theatre’s Downstairs Theatre from 17th June - 16th July 2016
